This paper examines the seismic damage of three-dimensional steel moment-resisting frame (SMRF) structures affected by torsional irregularities. Six steel 3-D SMRF structures with varying degrees of irregularity were evaluated using incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) to determine their dynamic capacity. The aim of the study was to develop a quantifiable damage index based on the results of IDA. The yield point and the point of loss of lateral bearing (collapse threshold) on the IDA curve of each record were used to calculate the proposed damage index, which ranges from 0 to 1 and can be calculated individually in two horizontal directions. The study evaluated the feasibility of a meaningful match between the momentary torsion and the predicted damage by charting the ratio between these two quantities against the damage index findings. The analysis of the average damage at different levels of mild, medium, and high damage, as well as the comparison of the average damage index between the design accelerations corresponding to the return periods of 475 and 2475 years, revealed a general trend towards higher damage in structures with greater irregularity.

Workplace accidents are a significant concern in construction projects, and their root causes must be identified and addressed to prevent future occurrences. One technique that can aid in this endeavor is Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), which can link several event sequences that result in other events. The research objectives of this study are to identify OHS risk factors and the quality of human resources in the construction of high-rise buildings in the Integrated Sports Psychology Building Project at the State University of Surabaya, evaluate the dominant OHS risk factors and human resources using the FTA method, and determine appropriate mitigation actions. The study was descriptive and analytical, and the results indicated that risk factors could be classified into five categories: Very Small, Small, Moderate, Large, and Very Large. The identified risks include non-compliance with safety procedures, lack of OHS training or certification for workers, unsafe working conditions, use of unsafe equipment, worker negligence, and inadequate personal protection or safety equipment. To reduce these risks, strict OHS standards and regulatory compliance, the use of safe equipment and technology, and careful worker selection and training are recommended. Routine inspection and evaluation, appropriate job placement, and competency development should also be implemented. Regular maintenance and inspection of concrete molds, compliance with construction regulations, and training on new technology are also needed to ensure project safety and success. In conclusion, the FTA method is an effective tool for identifying the root causes of workplace accidents and providing recommendations for their mitigation. The study provides insights into OHS risk factors and the quality of human resources in the construction of high-rise buildings, and its findings can be used to improve safety standards and practices in the construction industry.

In Finite element modelling (FEM) of the soil treatment systems that includes prefabricated vertical drains (PVDs), either for preliminary designation, or in the evaluation period, one the main challenges of geotechnical engineers are the correct estimation of the parameters used in the model. The main objective of these kind of soil treatment is the acceleration of the consolidation process to reinforce the weak soft clay stratum underneath. In the consolidation process the initial soil parameters changes, such as void ratio, hydraulic conductivity, swelling and compression index and so on and that is why the modelling of such reclamation process is so challenging. In previous published literature, there was no paper, especially concentrate on the sensitivity analysis. In this literature first, a case history is presented and verified, and then base on the verified model, the following parameters as: void ratio, vacuum pressure, phi and over consolidation ratio, rate of loading of the surcharge embankment, mesh size, Lambada (𝝀) and Kappa (𝜿), Hydraulic conductivity ratio and Mesh type were parametrically investigated. It was shown that, even a minute change in the quantity of some parameters can adversely affect the precision of the prediction of the model. The results of this study can be used by both field and design engineers, involved in the construction of embankments on soft ground for soil treatment systems in weak and rate-sensitive clays.

Nowadays, traffic congestion is a major problem in metropolises that affect daily life. The imbalance between supply and demand causes congestion. Demand management is used to balance demand and supply since has more reasonable costs and fewer restrictions in comparison with increasing transportation supply. One policy in order to manage the demand and reduce Tehran traffic congestion is to implement flexible working hours since October 2022. In this study, the effect of flexible working hours on traffic congestion has been investigated by using the length of Tehran's congested roads. The linear regression has been modeled based on the length of traffic congestion of the second week of October 2019 before the Covid-19 epidemic in comparison with the second week of October 2022. By flexible working hours, the graphs of the average hourly queue length have become smoother. In 2022 this chart has two prominent peaks as morning peak and evening peak. In 2022, the height of these two peaks has decreased and the trips have been more evenly distributed over time. In 2022, the height of these two peaks has decreased and the trips have been more evenly distributed over time. It was expected to face more road congestion due to the traditional education after the virtual education during the Covid-19 epidemic, user behavior changes, and an increase in the usage of private cars. Nevertheless, by implementing flexible working hours, Tehran's traffic congestion has been far more suitable except for the Limited traffic zone than the urban management's prediction.

When the plate is under large lateral loads the maximum deflection of the thin plate is equal or larger than the thickness of plate. Because of these large displacements the mid-plane stretches, and hence the in-plane tensile stresses developed within the plate stiffen and add considerable load resistance to it. Due to the restrictions of analysis methods, researchers suggest using numerical methods for these kind of problems. Numerical methods includes Finite element method, Boundary element method, Finite difference method, Point collocation method, Ritz’s method, Galerkin’s method, etc. Some of numerical methods trying to change the problem from solve partial differential equation to solve a system of differential equations. In this paper circular plate with clamped edges under uniform loading and large deflections is researched by using point collocation method. So large deflection of plate is assumed as a function of small deflection of plate. This assumption convert the problem from solve partial differential equation to solve a system of differential equations that is easy to solve and has good convergence rate. Finally the results of this method are compared with the results from analyzing model in ABAQUS software and Timoshenko’s exact solution.
